I have eatten at almost every sushi bar in the area brookings included. And have to say this place is AWESOME. the place is clean quiet the staff is courteous fast and friendly.
The food fresh and every time i have eatten here i try something new. Its always so good. The Avacado salad is to die. And i dream about this plate. The sushi i like rolls are tender melt in your mouth and always great... I wont ever go to another place. The mad dog is so far my favorite. As with the spicy tuna. Omg wonderful you guys rock...

SO for the only sushi restaurant in this town you cannot complain. It's not the greatest sushi in the world but it does the job. Its the only sushi available until you go to Brookings so if your craving sushi I recommend you eat it at this restaurant fresh do not take it to go because it will probably get soggy.

Pricing, is not bad there regular rolls are predominantly cheap and mainly  the meat based rolls go for 8-12 dollars.

Its a small cozy restaurant, they do not sell alcoholic beverages, but have coke products and bubble tea including Thai tea which I did not try.

There veggie roll was not bad, its just basically avocado  and cucumber which is bland, its not the best but its the only thing you can get in this town sushi related. My friend tried the shrimp roll he said make sure you eat it fresh at the restaurant when the shrimp is hot. If you wait for the shrimp to get cold it won't taste good and the roll will just basically fall apart. The Miso soup was ok, a little watery it has tofu and sea weed in there I think at least its hot but its alright. I just felt the sushi had no flavor, it was just the avocado cucumber and rice no flavor or additive sauce but it satisfied the quote on quote sushi crave in my head.

Overall its not the greatest sushi you'll get, but if your craving sushi and in crescent city and do not want to drive to Brookings this is your best option. Do not have super high expectations but in this town with limited food options Toyama sushi might just be your choice. Its cheap, quick and fast to your choosing, if I was back here I would still give it a shot but just go in with moderate expectations that the sushi might be really good or just A-ok.

I feel sorry for the fish that died to make the sushi(?) I couldn't finish because it was so bad. My meal came with a salad to start: a few pieces of iceberg lettuce with creamy French dressing?  Then, my sushi was some kind of salmon salad wrapped in rice. I wonder if it was actually salmonella salad because I was sick for the remainder of my vacation.
My meal didn't look anything like the photos others have posted. This was the the worst Japanese food I have ever eaten and a contender for the most disappointing meal of my life.

The food was good but they so slow and can not remember what you had and the rolls are not tight

The worst japanese food i have eaten. The meat was hard.the sauce was gravy and awful. They brought me my plate first and i was finished is whn the brought my wifes. She aaid her egg roll was awful. I asked for sukiyaki and they did not not serve it. I guess my red flag was when i see they represented japanese in their name they also offerred vietnamese food.
